Day 3 & 4: MERCEDES-BENZ FASHION WEEK

February 20, 2010 | Tags: Fashion Week Chic, Real Life Chic

Yes we admit we have lagged in posting our adventures but honestly we were so caught up with the craziness that is Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week that we really didn’t have a chance to breathe! Day 3 and 4 were equally as adventurous as 1 and 2 with the exception that they were more about celebrities seen than the fashion scene.

Day 3:

  • We started off with the Tracy Reese show where a certain PR company (you know who you are) made us stand in line for over an hour only to be turned away due to capacity issues!  Unfazed we decided to take a walk around Bryant Park where we met one of the sweet girls from Chictopia at a nearby cafe and had a blast exchanging notes about our NYFW adventures.
  • Next, we spotted Phillip Bloch at the Monique Lhuillier show and he was sweet enough to take a picture with Sarah.  Not only that, but he chatted along with us asking our opinion of the collection and which dress we liked the most.  What a cool guy!  On the way out, though, we got the surprise of a lifetime by bumping into Jared from justjared.com.  Can you say down to earth???  He was super nice and attentive and even agreed to take a pic with Dahlia.  We had a laugh and even exchanged business cards (fingers crossed ladies!!!).
  • Lastly, we went to the Tadashi Shoji event which actually was very beautiful (check out some pics below).  The celebs at the event?  Sherri Sheperd, Miss J from ANTM, and Adrienne Bailon.  Yes we must admit, not an impressive turnout but we did enjoy asking Miss J what he thought of the models’ walks after the show.  “Some were good and others need some work…”
  • The day ended with a quick visit to the Ports 1961 boutique for a cocktail party and then dinner at Pastis.  Other than their french onion soup, Pastis was unimpressive to say the least…

Day 4:

  • The first event of the day was the Max Azria show.  Typical of Max, the pieces were absolutely gorgeous.  The way to describe them would be to say structured and ethereal with a gorgeous neutral color palette.
  • Next, we went to the Dennis Basso show and were shocked to find out that we were sitting across from none other than Anna Wintour herself!!! Can you say surreal?  We can’t believe we were in the same room with the Vogue queen yet alone sitting in front of her!  As an added treat, Mr Andre Leon Talley was also sitting nearby and we got to snap a few pics.
  • Dinner at Lombardi’s pizza and a quick dessert at Max Brenner (can you say amazing?) helped feul us for what came next…
  • We headed over to the Tibi show and were also seated across from a certain someone that you all love…. Olivia Palermo!  So gorgeous and just simply elegant in real life!  Of course we had to snap a pic or two and then settled down to enjoy the show.
  • Day 4 ended with ordering room service to rest our tired feet!  Oh what a day!
