Dana Maxx is All On the Line…

April 27, 2011 | Filed Under Chic Review | 2 Comments

All On the Line is a new show featuring one of our favorite people in the world- Mr Joe Zee of Elle Magazine! It focuses on his efforts to help struggling designers save their lines from ruin. Unfortunately with the economy these days, one can have all the makings of a successful brand and still have trouble keeping it afloat… We are super-excited to watch today’s episode featuring our friend Dana Maxx! Although she was selected as Women Wear Daily’s ‘hot new designer,’ and had enormous success, her company is losing money every year. Joe Zee thinks Dana-Maxx is in need of a business makeover – her staff is too large and her price points unattainable. We are excited to see where it goes and hoping for the best! In the meantime, check out Dana’s Spring Summer 2011 collection and her insanely hot ‘Turban Shorts’ and pray that this fashion line is here to stay…

A hint of Jil

We love the floral theme that Jil Sander took to a whole new level in her Spring 2011 RTW collection.  Daring, we should add, but very pretty for the Summer.  Personally would we wear that much print on a top or skirt?  Hmm..no.  But have we found the perfect alternative to rocking her trend?  Yes!  Check out these Jil Sander Floral Ankle Cuff Sandals.

Harper’s Bazaar’s Chic Tips for Spring

April 22, 2011 | Filed Under Chic Picks, Chic Tips | Leave a Comment

Spring fashion has never been more easy, not to mention fun to wear. We saw tons of mood-lifting brights on the runways, easy and louche fabrics like denim and jersey, and roomy jumpsuits and flattering wide-leg styles reminiscent of the ’70s.

— Joyann King, Senior Web Editor, Harper’s Bazaar

How to Wear Them:

1) ’70s Influence

Start simple with pair of high-waisted flared jeans. Add platforms, a long-strap bag or an oversize sunner to complete your hippie chic look.

2) Bright Colors

Opt for one bold color statement and keep the rest of your look (read: accessories) neutral.

3) Chic Denim

This is not your weekend denim. Tailored tops, stylish gauchos and work-friendly suits offer a grown-up twist on the childhood staple.

4) Tribal Prints

Try a floor-sweeping dress in a colorful statement print.

5) Midi Lengths

Pair your longer length skirt with high-heeled sandals and a fitted top for a flattering final look.

House of Harlow Clutches

April 19, 2011 | Filed Under Chic Picks | 2 Comments

A few months ago, we heard the news that Nicole Richie was adding bags to her amazingly popular House of Harlow line.  The teaser was a picture of the leopard print clutch and I must say I instantly fell in love.  Now that the whole line is available to purchase at Singer22, I must admit I am thoroughly impressed with the quality and design of her four clutches. The best part is that they are pretty affordable at around $200 each.  Tell us, which is your fave?
