Carrie Bradshaw is Back!

For the first time since Sex and the City’s finale that Sarah Jessica Parker is starting to look like her old alter-ego, Carrie Bradshaw, again.  Even though the hat is waaay over the top for anyone, it looks like a walk in the park for our favourite trendsetter Carrie.  I’m feeling a bit of nostalgia already…  Can’t wait for SATC the Movie!

P.S.  Today is a good day for celeb fashion huh?

Yes Yes Yes!

As opposed to a number of our Not Chic posts, this reigning queen of NO has finally gotten a hot yes with her look. The pastel colored dress, gold hoops, slicked back hair, healthy bod, dewy makeup and innocent grin gain major points in our Chic Book. What award is she holding? We don’t know and honestly don’t care!

The Hills Finale

It’s finally over (for a couple of months at least)! We went from adoring it to hating it, only to finally resolve to just watch it with a pang of guilt…But there’s one thing we anxiously longed for every Monday night–the fashions. So we bid adieu to this reality show, and kind of admit that we need a break to regain our composure (and self respect)…

Chic Interview: Lulu from Everybody is Ugly

Yes, you read the title correctly, and sorry if we offended some all of you. She doesn’t shy away from giving out her opinions on, well anything and that’s why we l.o.v.e 24 yr old Lulu! Mix fashion and juicy relationship gossip, and you get this wonder

Chic Intuition: We found your blog through someone else’s blogroll, and we have to admit it was its name that got us clicking away. How in the world did such a striking title come to be?

Lulu: I always say stuff like that. One of my biggest pet peeves is when people go “yeah… its cute.” It’s this kind of indifference disguised as vaguely complimentary that breeds bad taste.

Chic Intuition: We know you started your blog to promote your other project, Chictopia (more on that later), but we read that you work for Alexander “One of Our Faves” Wang. Details!

Lulu: They are more like my friends. I help them out at sample sales, and whenever I am in town (NYC). That’s it! My previous company used to produce AW’s shows/ after parties so we all kind of know mutual people in the industry.

Chic Intuition: Now, back to your baby: Chictopia. Basically it’s a forum for loads of fashionable trendsters to flaunt their outfits and comment on one another’s style. Seems like a simple idea, but truly addictive once you log on. What makes your site stand out amongst all the other forums?

Lulu: The great thing about our site is that it is truely a fashion DESTINATION. You can browse looks by shape, size, age, style, or designer. View high-quality images (complete with heads!) in our gallery, participate in forums, search local boutiques, and blog using our built in blogging tool.
Our site connects users to actual stylish boys and girls. What are they wearing? What are they buying? And you decide if what they say is right for you. It’s what fashion magazines can’t do for you.

Chic Intuition:
One can’t help but get inspired by some of the outfits. Has your personal style been influenced by the site, and how would you categorize it?

Lulu: I love seeing what some of our British users come up with. My style is a bit grungy, so I identify with the kids that are little more disheveled, but still look GOOD!

Chic Intuition: If, god forbid, you were given the ultimatum of choosing just ONE accessory to live with the rest of your life, what would it be?

Lulu: My jewelry! I can’t live without it! Readers usually notice I wear the same necklaces over and over again. They were collected over the years from different countries. If I lost any of them I would be very sad.

Chic Intuition: We love the fact that you sometimes mix in a little personal BF drama into the posts. Why do so, when so many other fashionista blogs just stick to the clothing dilemmas?

Lulu: Honestly, I don’t think about clothes that much. I like to browse the net for inspiration, but as far as clothing dilemmas, I don’t really have any. Boy drama I have plenty. If I were to stick strictly to fashion, it wouldn’t really be me, I guess. Life affects the way you dress, and I think it is just as important to show that.

Chic Intuition: And finally, what’s the latest dish on Miss Coconut Foot?

Lulu: I’m having dinner with my ex’s roommate shortly. She will give me the update. Well, I hope that she likes the drawing at least. Ok I’m going to stop before someone beats me up.
